There was overnight rain with over cast conditions today and this proved to drop new birds in the Estuary today. The roost had 16 Sanderling in various stages of moult but with at least 4 birds in pretty much full Summer plumage. Also 5 Red Knot which sadly didn't hang around and just flew low over the point. At this time of year the Race of Red Knot should be that of Canutus and not Islandica which winter here within the UK.
Spent as much time as I could today concentrating on trying to get some shots of these summer plumage Sanderling.
There was 8 Turnstone present today. I have been at the roost each day this week and today was the first time of any note worthy/ Blog worthy details.
