I awoke at 08:30 and being the first up I got a fire going to boil the water for a good brew. After breakfast we pack up and make our way deeper in to the mountains and continue on our journey to Beringovski.
We drive for hours and see nothing or no one other than the scenery around us, a single bear in the distance and a rough legged buzzard over head. It was just at this point when I thought to myself that where else in the world have I been where there hasn't been any sign of human life around when all of a sudden out of no where another caterplillar appears coming from Beringovski to Meinopilginor.(photo below) We stop chat and then head on our different ways.
Some parts of the area of strewn with old rusty disused drums of oil and machinery from previous oil exploration trials (photo below)
At just on 14;00hrs we stop for lunch and set up camp for the night. After lunch I take a stroll up-river for a few hours in the hope of more Tattler action but the best it got wader wise was just a few common sandpipers. Female harlequin ducks are present on the mountain rivers and a quick visit to some scrub area produced several siberian rubythroats, arctic warblers and at least 4 little buntings (photo below)
After this I return and we have dinner by the river. Tonight Sveta has prepared a banquet, there is all sorts of meat and fresh Salmon that was caught in the river this afternoon (can't get fresher than that can you). There is Vodka and Congac and I wonder why. It is revealed that it is Sveta and Romans wedding anniversary and so we all eat and drink plenty and I enjoy the feeling of warmth from the spirits and I listen to the sound of the river flowing fast next to us.
At around midnight everyone calls it a day, everyone that is bar me, I sit by the fire drinking a nice cuppa listenng to the fast flowing waters from the river before I call it a night at around 01:30hrs.
