Met up with Stuart yesterday after work as we had planned to do a bit of night birding. The evening began well with 2 Tawny Frogmouths (2 photos below) on the wires just on the edge of Stuarts front garden.
After this we ventured in to a forested area just on the edge of town where we managed to have at least 3 Owlet Nightjars which wouldn't allow photographic opportunities and a brief flight view of a Powerful Owl "Nice to get though"
