Checked out the estuary at Mersing today. Covered it 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide as all of the mudflats and beach area on the Northern Beach got covered quickly due to the height and speed of the tide as this is the highest tides of the month. So the roost on the southern beach was the best location. It was pretty quiet but still not so bad for June. Totals for today follow below:
Red Necked Stint - 1 cracking full breeding plumaged adult.
Greater Sandplover - 4 presumed 1st summer birds.
Lesser Sandplover - 112 - nearly all 1st summer birds with 3 adult birds present.
Terek Sandpiper - 89.
